Chez Jolie’s Chef Robert Hansson Wins Juniorkrögare 2026

It is with great pride that we at Chez Jolie share that our colleague, Robert Hansson, has been named the winner of Juniorkrögare 2026. The final took place on February 10, 2026, and with calm precision and a clear vision of what a dish should be both on the plate and in restaurant service, Robert claimed the title.

The win brings a rare opportunity. On March 26-27, 2026, Robert will run his own pop-up at Agdas på hörnet in Stockholm, serving a self-composed menu to up to 100 paying guests per evening. He will hold full responsibility for the kitchen, working with the support of Carotte, sponsored produce from Arla and Martin & Servera, and mentorship from competition director Desirée Jaks (Årets Kock 2023).

A Victory That Extends Beyond One Evening

Juniorkrögare is organized for the second consecutive year by the Årets Kock Foundation and Carotte, and is open to young chefs between the ages of 19 and 23. The competition is designed to give emerging talents the opportunity to step from skilled craftsmanship into something greater: responsibility, leadership, and an understanding of the full scope of running a restaurant.

This is also where we recognize Robert. At Chez Jolie, craftsmanship is always present, yet never loud. We believe in clarity, warmth, and that unmistakable sense that everything is in place without needing explanation. Robert carries that philosophy in the way he works.

How the Final Was Decided

The final brought together four contestants, each preparing a main course based on a previously submitted recipe. The jury evaluated the dishes according to three criteria: taste, method, and how well the dish was adapted to be served to approximately 100 guests in a restaurant setting.

The format was uncompromising: three hours on site, no pre-prepared ingredients, and no à part elements except for sauce. During plating, Desirée Jaks was present in the kitchen to assess the methodology in real time.

The scoring was distributed as follows:

  • Taste: 60%

  • Adaptation for service to 100 guests: 20%

  • Method: 20% (waste management, cleanliness, and technique)

When the final scores were counted, Robert Hansson stood as the winner.

From Luleå to Stockholm and Towards His Own Expression

Robert is 21 years old, originally from Luleå and now based in Stockholm. He trained in the Restaurant and Food Programme at Luleå Upper Secondary School and has gained experience with respected colleagues at Spesso, Karl August/Aiko, and Lilla Ego. He has also achieved success in previous competitions winning Juniormedaljen 2.0, placing second in Årets Kockelev 2023, and now winning Juniorkrögare 2026.

For us at Chez Jolie, this is a moment of great joy, not only because Robert deserves the recognition, but because the competition highlights something we strongly believe in: that the next generation should be given the right conditions at the right time, along with the space to develop their own voice in the kitchen.

At the end of March, Robert steps into the role of restaurateur for two evenings. We look forward to following the journey and to seeing his vision unfold, from first idea to a fully seated dining room.

Table 16

Our head chef Mikael invites you to a new concept with a four-hands dinner. Welcome to Table 16, the table in our private dining room at Chez Jolie. Now for two special evenings, February 4th and 5th. As a newsletter subscriber, you get 24-hour priority access to book your seat before reservations open to everyone. Take the opportunity to secure yours, as there are only 16 seats per evening.

It will be a reunion in the kitchen when one of Sweden’s very best chefs—and perhaps the chef I have spent the most time cooking alongside—Jesper Karlsson joins us as a guest. Jesper was head chef at Fäviken for many years, and we worked together in the early 2000s at, among other places, Pontus in the Greenhouse and Carl Michael. The menu will be both a look back at dishes we have cooked before and what we cook today, but above all it will focus on ingredients and classic craftsmanship that we both love.

– Micke

The menu consists of seven courses and costs 3,000 SEK. Two wine pairings will also be available to choose from on site.

We took back the square!

After a long and sunny summer, a neighborhood party was once again arranged where the square was reclaimed and filled with music, laughter, food, and festive spirit. Throughout the day there were both a mix of DJs and live jazz bands, as well as a wonderful buzz of people.

We, Chez Jolie and Bâtard, together with our neighbors Noppe Bar, Frippe, and Teatergrillen, were finally once again ready with good food, selected drinks, and open doors. The Torgfest that we had previously organized together came to a summer finale.

Saturday Lunch with Us – With That Little Extra

On Saturdays, as the city slows down and the weekend begins, we set the table for lunch from 12.00. A moment to pause, to savour – conversation, company, and flavours that are given the space they deserve.

Each Saturday, our kitchen creates something truly special. A dish available only on this day, crafted with the finest seasonal ingredients and a fondness for the unexpected. Naturally, you’re also welcome to choose from our à la carte – a menu where elegant classics meet depth of flavour and care in every detail. Perhaps oysters with vinaigrette, our much-loved steak tartare, or something else that catches your eye.
Saturday lunch at Chez Jolie is for those who find beauty in the simple things. For those who want to press pause and let the glass, the plate, and the conversation take centre stage.

Welcome to lunch – with warmth, generosity, and a little touch of Jolie.

Mikael Einarsson Guest Stars at Château Le Cagnard This Summer

This summer, Mikael Einarsson — the chef and restaurateur behind Chez Jolie in Stockholm — will bring his culinary philosophy to the French Riviera for an exclusive guest appearance at the historic Château Le Cagnard in Cagnes-sur-Mer. On July 19, he will present a one-night-only menu created specifically for the occasion, inspired by craftsmanship, French techniques, and seasonal ingredients.

Known for his unwavering dedication to quality and his deep respect for classical cooking, Einarsson has established Chez Jolie as a destination where timeless gastronomy meets modern elegance. His appearance at Château Le Cagnard represents a meeting of Nordic precision and French culinary tradition, all set against the breathtaking backdrop of the Mediterranean.

Perched on the hillside with panoramic sea views, Château Le Cagnard is a boutique hotel steeped in history. Its terrace restaurant — famous for its retractable ceiling — will serve as the stage for this intimate dining experience. Each summer, the château invites a select group of celebrated chefs to host special evenings, and Mikael Einarsson is the first to take the reins this season.

July 19 promises to be a rare opportunity to experience Einarsson’s cuisine in a new setting — where local ingredients from the South of France meet the refined sensibilities of Chez Jolie.

Later this summer, the château will also host guest appearances by acclaimed Swedish chefs Tommy Myllymäki and Niklas Ekstedt. But the season begins with Einarsson’s signature evening.

Seats for these guest dinners are limited, and reservations can be made through Château Le Cagnard. Menu details and pricing are provided at the time of booking.

A piece of Paris on Ingmar Bergmans Gata

Where Nybrogatan meets Ingmar Bergmans gata, you’ll find Chez Jolie – a charming French bistro that instantly evokes the spirit of Paris. Here, classic French dishes are served with a deep love for both ingredients and detail. Don’t miss their acclaimed signature dish, the Cordon Bleu – a must-try for first-time visitors. The menu also features both fresh and gratinated oysters, long-time favorites since the day they opened.

During summer, Chez Jolie also serves juicy rotisserie chicken, slow-cooked in their own rotisserie grill. A seasonal delight that changes with the weather, best enjoyed with a glass of wine in the sun.

The outdoor terrace, framed by cobblestone streets and the hum of the city, is just as perfect for a leisurely lunch as for a cozy dinner under the evening sky. Chez Jolie is the spot for anyone craving French flavors, a well-curated wine list, and an atmosphere that breathes Paris – right in the heart of Östermalm’s vibrant dining scene.

The Square Festival at Ingmar Bergman’s Place Returns

Last year, Chez Jolie, the wine bar (Bâtard), Teatergrillen, and Frippe joined forces to host an unforgettable square festival at Ingmar Bergman’s Place — a sunny, laughter-filled day right at the intersection of Ingmar Bergmans Gata and Nybrogatan. The event was a huge success, and this year, the celebration is growing. On May 31, the festivities return — now joined by neighbor Noppe.

“Expectations are high for this year’s square festival! Last year’s edition turned into a true city celebration — sunshine, music, laughter, and chilled drinks. Being able to create this together with our dear neighbors and turn it into a recurring tradition feels fantastic.”
— Björn Wahlund, Teatergrillen

Now, five restaurants are coming together once again to invite the entire city to a day full of life and enjoyment. The giant paella pan, The Beeters live on stage, and the popular raffle with great prizes are all making a much-anticipated comeback. But this year’s festival also introduces some exciting new additions.

A brand-new highlight is Nybrogatan’s first-ever Waiters’ Race — a fast-paced competition where 8–12 waiters will balance food and drinks on trays through an obstacle-filled course. The race will be hosted by the award-winning restaurateur Per Nordlind, with humorous commentary provided by comedians Nisse Hallberg and Albin Olsson.

“This is pure, sparkling energy! We love planning, creating, and sharing experiences with our guests. The Waiters’ Race is a tribute to the classic ‘La Course des Cafés,’ but with a loving Nybrogatan twist.”
— Mattias Svensson, Frippe

Throughout the day, the square will be filled with the sounds of DJs and live bands, the aromas from the outdoor grill, and the flavors of freshly made paella. Cold drinks will be served in clinking glasses amidst conversations and laughter — creating an inviting scene with beautifully set tables under the open sky.

The five restaurants — all located around the square’s four corners — want to show how collaboration, community spirit, and a shared love of good food and drink can transform a small square into something magical. A vibrant, pulsating space where both Stockholmers and visitors can experience something truly special.

The square festival is open to everyone and takes place on Saturday, May 31, from 12 PM to 8 PM at Ingmar Bergman’s Place. A warm welcome awaits!

New Theme Day Celebrates Swedish Husmanskost

On February 26, a new holiday will be added to the Swedish food calendar – Husmanskostens Dag (Traditional Swedish Cuisine Day). The initiative comes from chefs Markus Ekman and Pontus Frithiof, who aim to highlight Sweden’s traditional food culture and its significance.

Both chefs have a deep connection to husmanskost, a love that was nurtured during their early years in the kitchen. They worked side by side with some of Sweden’s most renowned chefs, including Leif Mannerström, Örjan Klein, and Erik Lallerstedt, gaining extensive knowledge of Sweden’s culinary heritage.

With Husmanskostens Dag, they want to shine a spotlight on classic dishes and pass the tradition on to new generations. “It’s a tribute to the flavors we grew up with and a reminder that great cooking is often about simplicity and quality,” say the initiators.

February 26 will be a perfect occasion to enjoy dishes like raggmunk (potato pancakes), meatballs, herring, and pytt i panna (Swedish hash) – and perhaps discover new favorites within Swedish comfort food.

Joining Markus and Pontus in this initiative is our own restaurateur, Mikael Einarsson. At Chez Jolie, we are celebrating the occasion this week by featuring blodpudding (Swedish blood pudding) on the menu – a tribute to Sweden’s husmanskost.
